Track 11 Somos Terra We Are Earth This music is the sound track from a 5 minute animation I was invited to compose the score for. It was for an installation at a large museum in Sao Paulo Brasil. Our sun is only one of 100 billion stars that live in our galaxy. More than 100 billion galaxies inhabit the universe. Before that NOTHING existed.  Nothing, not time, space, nothing!   And then……..an explosion.  The biggest explosion of all.  From this explosion everything arose. The universe.  This magnificent explosion occurred more than 13 billion years ago.  Today humans call this the “Big Bang”.  After this birth the universe grew quickly inside and outside. Material and energy in continuos transformation.  Under really high temperatures, millions of degrees, particles become gases, gases become stars and comets. 4 ½ billion years ago, our galaxy, the Milky Way, had the form we would recognize today on the outside. Inside this galaxy the solar system is still a growing child, being formed.  Our earth swirls between meteor storms, gases and particles, From a fabulous collision the moon is born. The earth lives in a hostile environment, volcanoes erupt, constantly bombarded by meteors. Celestial bodies coming from cold areas of the milky way bring a lot of water to earth. Water, that becomes steam and creates clouds. A lot of clouds! And then it starts raining on the hot parched surface of Mother Earth. It rains for thousands of year. The planet is saturated with water, forming the seas, oceans, rivers.  One day something unexpected happens. Life, life in small cells, cyano bacteria color the sea and the atmosphere, inhaling carbon-dioxide and exhaling oxygen. This opens the doors for a new phase on this planet, full of life. Life that left the seas and conquered the land. First small vegetation, then high plants. Animals, each time more complex. Human beings.  A planet full of life connected by the same ancestors, the stars. All with the same origin. Cosmic dust coming from infinity. Star particles that become life and transform to make more life. Everything connected. We are one!
